Justice For Rape Victims And Possible Solutions For Further Crimes:
As “Incredible” is the word used with our country’s name and is always been known for its beauty and its god and goddesses. In India people say that girls are an avatar of Parvati and they should be respected. But increasing number of rape cases and victims puts a different understanding.
Let me remind you all something:
On 16th December 2012, the country witnessed something which was never done or known before. A 23-year-old physiotherapy intern was brutally gang-raped and killed on a moving bus in South Delhi.
In January 2018, An year old Girl Asifa Bano was abducted, raped and murdered in Rasana village near Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir.
Birbhum Rape Case:
On 21st January 2014, a 20-year-old tribal girl of Subolpur village was gang-raped by a group of people, as a punishment ordered by Salishi Sabha, a village kangaroo court, for having affair with a boy of a different community.
A district court found all 13 persons accused guilty and sentenced them to 20 years imprisonment on 19 September 2014, the minimum sentence under the section (376(D) of IPC.
Kandhamal Rape Case:
Ajmer Serial Gang Rape Case:
Ajmer Serial Gang Rape Blackmailing Case was one of India’s biggest cases of coerced sexual exploitation. A group of local men were targeting young girls. They trapped one girl and manage to take obscene images. Then they would blackmail the girl into familiarizing them to her classmates and friends. Eventually, other girls would be raped, sexually exploited and have their pictures taken. The cycle continued so forth. The gang continued to expand its operations and victimise an increasing number of girls. They photographed the victims in compromising positions, using the images to exploit the victims.
Kamduni Gang Rape And Murder Case:
On 7 June 2013, a 20-year-old college student was abducted, gang-raped and murdered in Kamduni village, 16 km from Barasat, North 24 Parganas district about 20 km from main Kolkata. The victim, a second year BA student of Derozio College, was walking home along the Kamduni BDO Office Road in the afternoon, when she was abducted and taken inside a factory where she was gang-raped by eight men. After raping her, the perpetrators tore apart her legs up to the navel, slit her throat and dumped her body into a nearby field.
Priyanka Reddy, Hyderabad:
On 27 November 2019, a 27 year old veterinary doctor named Dr. Priyanka Reddy from Shamshabad in Hyderabad was brutally raped and murdered by four men. She was returning home after completing her duties in a hospital of Kolluru village near Shadnagar in Hyderabad. The four men raped her and burnt her alive.
There are many such cases and victims. If we go on mentioning every one then we may gate an endless list of victims. A few of them only reached the destination of justice and many are still pending. Court trials are still continuing.More than 32,500 cases of rape were registered with the police in 2017, about 90 a day, according to the most recent government data. Indian courts disposed of only about 18,300 cases related to rape that year, leaving more than 127,800 cases pending at the end of 2017.
Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2013 annual report, 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012. Out of these, 24,470 were committed by someone known to the victim.
Many of the culprits has been hanged. Many has been sentenced to prison. And many are still free. Justice has been stabbed under the pressure of politicians and people with money power and sources.
Let me ask you something. What is the main reason for the increased number of rape cases in India? Give me your opinions in the comment section. But I think that there are only two main reasons for the increased number of rape cases in India.
Firstly, lack of moral education. This is the main cause of the increasing number of rapes in India. People have forgotten how to treat others. Everyone has developed a negative mindset about each other. They said, “her clothes were provoking “. If so then the creation of a female’s body is also the same as the body of our mother and sisters. If so, then you can guess the types of mindsets causing rapes.
Secondly, the unavailability of such a punishment which is more painful and severe than death for the culprits. The culprits should be given such a punishment that before raping a girl, a person thinks 10-15 times. The punishment should be so harsh that anyone can not even think of raping someone. They should not be given an easy death like hanging. Instead, they should be given death every day or the most painful and frightening death.
We cannot do anything for the second reason because it’s in government’s hand. But the solutions for the first reason is in our hands. This is our country and making it beautiful is our own duty. So, let us give proper knowledge and right education to our youngsters so that our country can become a safe and better place for everyone to live in.
